Re: 2010 L99/6L80E swap into 95 C1500 Silverado

This is a picture of the VSS mounted on the rearend for the 40 tooth reluctor kit form jagsthatrun. I had to modify the connector to fit after modifying the bracket. The modified sensor they sell would work the best if not modifying the connector yourself.

Uploaded a video to show the GSS-2000 interface circuit in action via the gear indicator lights in the instrument panel.

Re: 2010 L99/6L80E swap into 95 C1500 Silverado

Just ordered the new coolant temp sensor: ACDELCO 12551708
and connector pigtail: STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS HP4440

I will keep you all posted on what value resistor is needed to make the temp gauge read what the ecm is getting. The ecm temp sensor works fine, but the sensor for the gauge is about 30 degrees too low while driving due to the adapter from S&P. I calibrated it at idle in park, go figure. Without the 47 ohm resistor already installed on the printed circuit it was reading pegged out(about 60 degrees too high).

Re: 2010 L99/6L80E swap into 95 C1500 Silverado

I haven't had time to change out the ECT yet due to my other truck hydrolocking after a fuel injector failure(stuck open). I will be focusing on that as it should be cheaper to fix than the upgrades in store for this build.

By the way, I developed the dreaded tick/tap that these L99s are known for after 2 months of driving it. Next step for it is a Texas Speed and Performance AFM Delete, VVT-1 cam upgrade, 3000 stall converter, and some version of a locker in the back. What good is all the power if I can't hook? My tire dealer is happy...

Re: 2010 L99/6L80E swap into 95 C1500 Silverado

Here is an update:
The Eaton style posi, carrier bearing stud kit, and Moser diff cover are finally installed. I also installed the BellTech lowering kit, BEL-686SP. I didn't like how high the rear still sat after the install.
I took the springs out and asked the local spring and axle shop to de-arch them. Now it sits like a 3/5 drop should. A couple of pics, one just the 95 and another next to an older square body.Name: 20180406_213942.jpg

Such a nice truck, you nailed the ride height perfectly in my opinion. What rear gears did you go with? Also, did you ever mess with the TUTD?

Re: 2010 L99/6L80E swap into 95 C1500 Silverado

Thank you for the kind words. I am still using the stock 3.41 gears. I enjoy the economy and still get the seat of the pants feeling when I need it.

I made a push button TUTD controller and wired it in. I didn't reprogram the pcm in the trans to the Corvette, but I did reprogram the ecm to use TUTD, which didn't work well. The truck drove like it had tourettes. I immediately pulled over and unwired the controller and put back the old tune. Never did anymore research. I should follow up on it. Any recommendations?

Unfortunately not. I was hoping you would inform me!

I'll post what I do have and follow up on the research. Might be a couple weeks. Help me stay on track and ask again please.

Re: 2010 L99/6L80E swap into 95 C1500 Silverado

Found the info I looked at before when trying the hardwired method. Link here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...0_BiQZFOBmYsZV

Don't know if it works, but would be a good place to start. Reading how long it takes for the TUTD switch command to respond I probably wouldn't use it, but getting into Sport mode to use a separate table of shift points would be fun.

You mentioned you would use the three pin coolant temp sensor. Have you installed that? How has it worked?

Re: 2010 L99/6L80E swap into 95 C1500 Silverado

I haven't installed it yet. I let one of my friends try it for his son's 5.3 swap. Not sure how that panned out. The swap is done but the truck is put back together yet to drive.

Has any one else tried it? I just started posting again. It is amazing how much is forgotten once life resumes after a build.
