Sun visor FAQ

Went to install sun visor on passenger side where that was not checked as option. Use the dimples and it was off. Used the Yellow Assembly Manual and the dimple is for the 1.25" hole. Just assumed the other is for lower one. Waiting on drill to charge for next round. Here is the page for reference.

Re: Sun visor FAQ

Now I know, I really need to find one to buy.

I like that a lot.

It's a useful extra.

Re: Sun visor FAQ

Interesting, those look longer than the ones that came on my 66 C10. The mounts are the same but my visors don't stretch that far toward the center.

Of course there's always the low-tech method

Re: Sun visor FAQ

I said the same thing. But that is the parts they sent. The mirror head is bigger as well and GM approved. There is a tab on the arms inch from 90 not sure it goes that far. I forced them on as far as they would go.

Re: Sun visor FAQ

Perhaps mine are just short or the slide on portion was from another vehicle. Looks good.

Re: Sun visor FAQ

Bump thread

Just got passenger visor
Was thinking for placement I would remove the drivers one and tape off section from windshield to door and to separation of A pillar
Then flip and drill

Also got rear view mirror but might mount as dash mirror(Muppets woody) who knows
Don't really need one with small window but looks cool

Re: Sun visor FAQ

So do I understand correctly that the dimple that's there is NOT the reference mark for drilling the passenger side mount??

Re: Sun visor FAQ

Sorry to break in on this thread but how do I keep the visors from coming down with vibrations and such? I have a velcro tab glued to the header panel and a matching tab stapled to the visor...did this several years ago, but they still keep coming down.
Thanks for any tips

Slightly bend (gentle arc) the visor rod inside the visor.

Re: Sun visor FAQ

I recently did mine and drilled the big hole first , stuck it up in there and then marked holes for screws, They are for sure not exactly where the dimples are.

Re: Sun visor FAQ

Or you could use the drivers side, Make a Template and transfer it to the passenger side.

Re: Sun visor FAQ

Good morning all, I also have to drill the holes for the passenger side and I am in search of a pair of visors for my 65. Has anyone used the Dave Graham visors from RockAuto? I would like something close to the original. My driver side is brown in color, not sure if that's correct. I think it's original. Thanks for all the information, have a great weekend.

Re: Sun visor FAQ

just to add to this.. I had to replace that inner panel due to rust. So i order the entire panel, runs from driver to passenger side. I comes with only 1 hole for the driver side, none on the passenger side. I was able to keep my original placed one and use it.
