Re: support for longbeds

Lots of nice longbeds here. When I hear longbed I think C/10 or K/10,since they are the only ones offered in shortbed. I've never had anyone say,"Hey,nice longbed 3/4t". And,when there's a nice C/10 longbed I'd just say,"Nice longbed". There are those who like longbeds but don't care for C/20s,also. Me,I like trucks!

I like that. Your green is along the same line a Tink's truck color. I'll show it since she's too modest:

Special-K, you can't distinguish a C/10 from a C/20 by looks can you? Other than the fender badge. Their stances are similar aren't they?

I can tell the difference from a mile away. I don't care if it has an emblem or not. They have a different stance, different wheels/tires,and either 8-lugs or,if it's original, different hubcaps. But,that's me. What I'm saying is there's no point in using the term "longbed" on a truck that only comes that way. The whole longbed/shortbed thing is a 1/2t thing to distinguish one from the other. At least that's how it's always been since I've been into pickups. People have always used the term 3/4t,8-lugger,or C/20 to distinguish a 3/4t. To me the heading,"Support For Longbeds",is about supporting longbeds vs shortbed which get the lion's share of attention here, and it looks like amongst the O.P's friends. I don't really care, but it's like saying female woman or wet water or round tire, that's all.

Ok, I understand your disposition now. I didn't mean anything by asking (just in case). So the term "longbed/shortbed" is more of an entry level naming scheme.

I just figured I'd explain for anyone, since you asked. Longbed/shortbed just tells us which 1/2t a truck is.

Re: support for longbeds

Here is a recent find. Cali built c20 now in Illinois. This is a very original truck that had a big camper on it until sometime around 2005, the bed and tailgate are super straight.

Just beginning to tinker so we'll see how it goes.

BTW how do I tell if this was a Custom Camper or Camper Special?

Thanks.
