Talking New ground straps

It's been raining most of the day but I did get some ground straps installed on the ramp truck. I was hoping it may help the marker light problem but it doesn't seem to. After installing the new ground straps I turned the lights on. I had to open the tool box again to get the lights on bright. I will add a strap to the frame over to the bed later. It started back raining so I had to stop.
Oh well as I was doing the ground strap on the passenger side I noticed a plug wire looked burned. Went to pull it off and it fell a part so I stuck another old one I had on it.
Battery to alternator bracket. I added the ground strap to same spot to frame. I also added drivers side strap to frame to radiator core support.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Are you asking about the 66 and earlier model trucks. If I not mistaken they ground through the hood metal.
Sorry been out of town the past 2 days. Most all 12 volt vehicles use the metal of the vehicle to ground everything back to the battery.

I have no lights on my hood so I have no grounds. I'm sorry but I'm confused on what your asking me though.

I added a ground strap from the frame to the side of the bed by the tool box today after I got back home. It seems to have worked. The park lights came on nice and bright without opening the tool box. I guess we will see how it does over time. I'm going to add another to the frame to the cab also just for good measure tomorrow.
The Ramp has cab marker lights and all of them ground through the metal of the truck.

You had me scratching my head there sir!
As far as I know the lights on a 66 and earlier truck ground through the hood metal.

Here are some schematic's showing the ground is through the metal of the hood.

Re: New ground straps

Is the battery grounded to motor or frame? You can have a hundred ground straps but it all has to have a path back to battery

Thumbs up Re: New ground straps

I added 2 more just for good measure. 1 from cab to frame and 1 from the tool box to the frame just to be sure. I also cleaned the 2 straps that go from motor to cab.

If this is directed at me read the 1 post please and check the pictures.

Well after driving it tonight it seems to be all fixed. I have good lights all around it and in it.
