What would cause the oil pressure guage to peg out and stay there...

1987 V10 100% original, just pulled the engine and had it rebuilt, everything is working fine except the factory oil pressure gauge, it worked fine before the overhaul, now it stays maxed out, key on or off. ....figures

I replaced everything I could with A/C Delco/Delphi parts.

Have not got to spend much time troubleshooting it so thought I’d ask, thanks.

Pinched wire between the bell housing and the block?

My c30 wit an electric gauge did that when the sending unit got unplugged.
...or did it not register at all? Now I can't remember.
Anyways, if it's an electric gauge, check the wire going to the sending unit.

Thanks, checked that. I’m guessing a direct short to ground maybe? Not used to seeing a gauge pinned to the max. Worked like a champ prior to the engine replacement so it’s something I did.
