Suburban Third seat--help needed - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

i have an '88 suburban that did not come with a third seat. I have located a seat and brackets, but the guy I am buying it from says the brackets are welded in. is this true? i assumed they were bolted. i assume we could cut the floorboard around the old junker 'burb and either piece them in to mine or simply bolt them to the existing floor and cover with the carpet. need some help here. Any pics would also help. thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure they do this weird tilt lock in ordeal that goes into the floor

Yes the in floor pin brackets are welded in.

in my 88 it was on top of the floor
I looked into moving it into the floor and found out my insurance would not cover me unless it was done at at licensed body shop and safety inspected
may wana check that before you cut up the floor
