Hubcaps for the steel wheel 3/4 tons?

Any options out there for hub caps that will snap over the nubs on a 3/4 ton 16 in wheel that aren't stock. The good looking stock caps are over 500 bucks now for a decent set. Not the later model ones that (sorry guys) look like an inexpensive version of the stockers. And not the rally wheel looking ones. Has anyone found something with character that might be kinda neat?

Re: Hubcaps for the steel wheel 3/4 tons?

I know that the 3/4 ton Ford van wheels fit on our trucks and we can use our stock 3/4 ton chevy hubcaps. They fit right on . So what hubcaps do the 3/4 ton Ford vans come with?
I looked online quickly and there are some fancy and plain dog dish poverty caps without the Ford logo that fit the 3/4 ton wheels.

I don't know if these are hard to find. I would check the junkyards.

Those are the wheels he has, I assumed anything from Ford would have their logo. Going to have to check it out.

I'm surprised it isn't profitable for someone to repro them. Maybe there's just not enough volume to make it worth it.

IMO, none. Better to be hubcap less, if you don't have the correct cap. '73-'75 are similiar, are the exception to the rule, up to '78 painted versions.

Would be nice to have something on there. I don't disagree that the stock style are the ones to have. Id rather have nothing than the next series up.

But my guess is there is something out there that's passable for what he is looking for. The search is on.

Re: Hubcaps for the steel wheel 3/4 tons?

There were only two styles of GM 3/4t/1t hubcaps ever made for nubs, 69-75 and 76-91. That is it. I don't know of any aftermarket caps ever made for this wheel size. Pretty sure not even baby moons. 1/2 tons are so much easier for caps. Especially Chevy trucks. You have all but the smallest cars to rob caps from. I am very surprised someone hasn't begun stamping these caps. We can get the wheel that needs them and that is the most popular look. At what a nice set of originals cost, I am sure the money would be there to justify the investment.

They have none of the GMC or Chevy dog dish truck caps and they don't reproduce them. They sell nice used ones. Man, I was hoping they actually made them.

Re: Hubcaps for the steel wheel 3/4 tons?

Be aware that these repos do not have the chevy emblem on them like the factree hubcaps did. I guess they didn't want to pay for the licensing.
