1997 Chevrolet grandpa truck.

I noticed I forgot to put a build thread in for this truck, as it is almost done but waiting for the garage to finish, so I can finish it. Here are the pics.

Okay, so I seem to have confused myself... It looks like you go from a 6 stud wheel to a 5 stud wheel on the front and rear... Am I mistaken? Did you do a conversion, if so, how? Looks great btw!

It was a 2500 2wd Light duty truck, which used the 6 lug pattern front and 14SF 6 lug rear instead of the 8 lug like the rest of the 2500s.

Swapping the front to 5 lug is as simple as using the 5 lug 1/2 ton rotors, they are a direct swap. The rear can be redrilled, or swapped for the smaller 10 bolt 5 lug rear. It is a pretty quick/easy swap, just the same as swapping the 67-72 trucks from 6 to 5 lug or vice versa.

Looks great!

Yup, new rotors, and redrill the 14 bolt. Still waiting on rear tires though.

Re: 1997 Chevrolet grandpa truck.

Well I got some more parts to install. Not the rockford sub, but the box. I also picked up some djm spindles to swap in so I can take the coil spacers out and drop another inch on the front with tire clearance I hope.

Re: 1997 Chevrolet grandpa truck.

Well back from the dead, I have my garage together enough, my daughter was born on april 7th, so I now have a few seconds to get back on the truck. Got to get my but in gear as my tuner should be here Saturday to get this thing ready to fry tires. First some pics.

I was thinking to drop this thing another inch on the front, but will have to wait to see how the 20's fit with the new djm spindles.

My sway bar for the front finally showed up after 5 months.

Some before tire to fender pics.

And tearing into it tonight again.

I think I'm in trouble, my daughter was wide eyed and staring it up something fierce.

.

I do have the tires mounted, they are just on this at the moment.

Re: 1997 Chevrolet grandpa truck.

Well I swapped out the injectors and started to tune, but the laptop battery died and I still probably have 30 minutes left yet.

So I took a couple pictures, it appears I am lower than a stock height camaro.

It is factory, and if I'm not mistaken it is Indigo Blue. I'll have to find my factory brochure. When I get back from the care show this weekend I'll post the paint code.
