Re: How about some pictures of '73-'87 short beds

URECKME, are those holes in your finder? Looks like bullet holes. Other than that, looks like a nice truck. Where are you getting the 700R4? With that set up what RPM do you think you will be getting around 60mph?

I am a firm believer in "to each his own" but personally wire wheels look kinda tacky. The ones on the stepper are *****in' though! If the wire wheels are your thing, roll em! But i think there are better options. Beautiful truck tho, lots of great potential! Good luck!

Yeah i'm not real big on the wires eather. They are what came on the truck when I got it and at least they arn't GOLD. My ideal set up would be some 15x12 alloy slotted mags with mickey thompson street slicks and a mini tub with a step side bed.

Exactly! the wires give it a tall lean stance so until I can afford some new tires for my pontiac rally II wheels im stuck and content with the wires.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

what size are those wires? they look real tall . 20's?? i think that with the truck lowered down and a step side bed (to break up all that tall and lean stance your talking about) it will look pretty good. if we remember older cars with wire wheels that we love had a lot more bulbous and shapely fenders and lines and there is a reason we call it a short box chevy....

cjracing15, that is a good looking truck! I like the 350 idea for sure and I only have one small suggestion (picky one)...remove or paint the white overspray on your fuel tank. Clean 4x4's from the 80's are hard to find and it appears you have one.

Thanks for the praise on my 86. hiway what you see in the pic is the gas tank covers. The old guy I got the truck from painted them white . I plan on painting them black after I do The 350 swap.

I am trying to figure out more information about putting the 88-98 beds on these trucks.. I have one currently on my 67 and I am selling it.. a guy called me about putting it on a 85... He was worried about the gas tank that is on the outside of the frame.. do any of you know what would have to happen or if these beds clear? Please PM so I dont highjack this thread but I saw the picture of one here on page 6..
