Used my truck for workin'

I know this will sound silly to those of you that use your trucks daily, but mine is kind of a trailer queen, so it was a big deal that I actually used it as a truck this weekend!

I loaded it up with my pressure washer, a hand truck, a hose reel, a couple of hundred feet of extra hoses, and headed down to the entrance to my neighborhood to pressure wash the gate (what all Dads do when we're bored - pressure wash random things).

So for an hour this weekend it was an honest-to-goodness landscaper's truck!

Of course I put blankets down first :-)

That's funny. Nice to see the truck getting trucked! Oh, LineX. And use it with abandon!

Re: Used my truck for workin'

I'm going to order the Summit bed mat, that way I can actually make much more use of it. So long as I don't damage the thing, I'd like to use it all I can!

Re: Used my truck for workin'

I ran a bed mat in my '70 GMC Custom Camper big block truck. (Hey, that looks familiar!) But I was planning LineX, it just got sold before I got it done. (I'm a dog-in-the-truck kinda' guy and when the kid was born we didn't all fit.) My '02 GMC has the LineX and honestly, I won't own a truck that gets used as a truck without one again.

The bed mat works fine, but the LineX takes almost all the worry out.

Re: Used my truck for workin'

I got mine out of the paint shop about 12 years ago and didnt use it to haul anything until 4-5 years ago when I started using her to haul the family Christmas tree each year. That kinda broke the ice and now I use it as a truck to haul stuff home from home depot when I need to. I dont have another truck to use for hauling stuff so I figure...I am old, the truck is old....she has a better face lift than I do, so lets age gracefully together. I protect her from scratches the best I can and she does the same for me!

Well we don't have a gate on our neighborhood, but we do have a moat so I used my pressure washer to clean the alligators

I have a livestock gate at the end of my gravel driveway about 1500' from my little log cabin does that count ? It's new from Tractor supply so I can probably wait until next year before pressure washing it ! You have alligators in Washington state ? Your moat must be heated

Re: Used my truck for workin'

Weld in 1/8 inch steel plate to the bedsides and bed floor, that's what my truck's PO did!

I expect I'll be pretty protective over my truck just like you are....I am pretty protective over even my daily driver car and it's 14 years old.
