65 all original. Was a Dept of Interior Inland Fisheries truck when new. It was left the original green by the feds since it was very close to their colors of dark green. It was stationed very close to me in Paint Bank, VA.

63 & 64 Bowties,

Glad to see a member on here of a truck that I have posted. This is a very nice truck in it's original form. Does it still look the same today. I like your story about how you acquired this truck. Your friend should be greatful to have a buddy like you to buy this and keep it in great shape.

Hey special-K, that is a nice GMC 4x4 that your friend has. Does he own any more 60-66 4x4's? Is he a member on this board? If not hook him up and have him post some pics if he's got some. Here are some more.

I really like that blue one back in post#63.
I don`t think I have the guy`s number.I pretty much just keep bumping into him at events and meets.I`ll probably see him in August.I don`t think he comes on here.

I have searched hours on the internet over the years and have them stored on my computer with many more to come. Some are restored and others are in need of repair. I have purchased a new truck,a 1966 Chevy 4x4 swb and will post some pics at a later date. I was reading some of your old posts and saw the one where you replaced the frame because it was bent. What happened to the frame? Was the truck in an accident or just years of abuse as many were abused and are no longer around.

I still have the frame. Doesn't look like it was in an accident. Up front where the engine mounts, some one down the road had cut holes on the frame rails with a torch. I think it weakend the frame. I think it can be repaired, but there is not a shop around here that I have found thats wants to touch it. So, I was debating to cut it up or sell it to some one that could fix it. There are not to many 60-66 4x4 frames around anymore!!

Too bad you're not closer. I have no problem with fixing frames, in fact I just finished up today fixing a hack job on a '67 swb 2wd frame.

Man,I`m picky.I`d take that green faded truck with the dent in the hood before the last two. That primer grey one is just plain silly.Does it even have a front driveshaft.Hard to believe the rear one works.

Thanks for the complements guys. The wheels are American Racing Outlaw I 15''x10''. The tires are Cooper 12.50/33/15. The lift is a factory lift, it came that way from the factory. They install a 8'' block on the rear axle and all spring lift on the front axle. This is the way a 4x4 should be sold from the factory. Unlike Chevy 4x4's sold today, you can't tell if they are a 2wd or 4wd with out placing a 4x4 sticker or emblem designating that.

Thank you!

The first thing I did when I took delivery of my`92 K3500 SRW was get out the heat gun and pull the 4X4 stickers off.I could never figure out what "16" had to do with my truck. Maybe I should have custom stickers made that said 2X8 or 50% of 32.
