Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Well this EFI venture has been a real lesson for me a costly lesson.

But I know what I am getting will be better for my setup.
Custom Built Carb with Teflon coating by DeVane Carburetor $1,040
-8an fuel line, new gaskets, new bypass regulator and new fuel log, new fuel filter. $840
All new an fittings $120.

I will never ever put a EFI/TBI kit on a race motor.
I questioned how the fast system wouldn't work on my new motor but the FiTech would. FAST told me point blank it would not work for my motor. But was told numerous times by FiTech that the FiTech would and it wasn't like the FAST or have issues like FAST with big cams. Proof is in the pudding. Time to move on to bigger and better things!!

Ray here. Day 7
The unit has arrived.
Not the same one I shipped out. This one is new so in the end they did not fix it they just replaced it........I'm ok with that.

Tried plugging in the UBC cable but it snapped off before it got half way in....Bummer..

Don't need that to get it running....

Install assy.................Hand controller totally in op.....DEAD...
Glad this is winter..

Ray.

I told you all I would keep it real good or bad. And I have. Got a couple of emails about the end result from all of this EFI crash burn experience.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Isn't that the right thing to do though, if it doesn't work get a refund? Sounds like people might be better off buying it from summit or jegs. In my experience they stand behind what they sell, and they have a bigger stick to hit the manufacturer with.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Mine has been sitting in a box for a month now. Got my motor and tranny rebuilt, was about to take it home from my friends shop and the brand new oil pan is leaking from the weld. Just haven't had time to pull it all back out and replace it. Been working on this silly truck since July.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

I got mine from Pace Performance, first time I've used them. I hate to tally how much I've spent on just the drivetrain. I'm well north of 10K at this point!!

I just bought my hose and ends from Summit, didn't know that they have a "Beat-a-Price Guarantee". Just saved $65 on a $320 order, ain't a lot but it does let me buy more stuff
Now to find the best price on the FiTech Go EFI 4 and have Summit beat that price.

Lol. Don't get me start on $$. I got over 40K in mine as it sits. And that isn't counting new tranny and other things I have and what else is going to be done.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Ray here.
It was painfully simple...Kind of..
If you try to put the data cable into the 12v side It pushes the pin over and the hole is far larger than the male connecter for the 12v side.. It will go in with no resentence with the wire bent over....NO POWER..
Simple.....

Ray.

Sounds like you may have been bent over on this one. Charge it to the game man. CC dispute.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Ray here.

The good news is AT THIS TIME the motor runs very well.
Time will tell.

Bending over is easy...Its getting back up that hurts..

Ray.
