Date my Hood

Hello all, I'm hoping you can help me date a GMC pickup hood that I found in an old barn. Aside from the surface rust it's in very good condition. I originally grabbed it thinking I might be able to make a game table out of it but the radius is too significant for a functional table surface so I'm going to sell it and want to be sure I'm representing it correctly in my ad. Any help in getting an accurate date on it is much appreciated. If the pictures don't attach I can send on request. Thanks

47-53 gmc hood....and possibly 54-55.1.....also referred to as the AD era..I'm not sure if there are any differences thru these years. .
appears to be in very good condition..should be a easy sell if price is right..

Re: Date my Hood

Thanks for the offer, but I don't normally date a hood I haven't met. Looks awful good in the picture. I was born in '55 and she's just right, my age or a bit older. Good luck

Re: Date my Hood

I totally expected some interesting comments to my post title. Thanks all for the input, now to decide whether or not to sell it or re-purpose it. If selling is the decision are there any suggestions on where to post it to get the best response volume?

Re: Date my Hood

as big as a hood is ..shipping would be awfully expensive...selling local is your best bet...try craigslist first..a gmc hood in good shape is harder to find than a chevy hood.. your location may dictate demand as well..
