Removing side molding from my 72 gmc?

I've got some side molding I'd like to remove from my 72 GMC, and was wondering if more knowledgable people could give me some pointers on it?
I'm not interested in saving it, and I know I could just get on there a RIP THE **** out of it, but obviously theres should be a kinder/gentler/Greener way (my PC for the day).

THEN how the Hell do you get the clips off that are BEHIND that molding (once you take it off)?

Roger

P.S. I Like this Icon, as I was "weaned" on Van Halen, just too bad it wasn't the ORIGINAL VH Logo and NOT the SPAMMY era.
