Re: Cross Member Drop?

You are a meticulous fabricator. I dont think there will be any chance of you pulling up next to another truck w/the same mods. Very unique and inspiring!
Please Carry On.

Re: Cross Member Drop?

sweet ride, I like the two rear axles...never even seen one like it , on your R&P how did you end up connecting the tie rods to the spindles? I am going to do a R&P on my 62 but was looking more at the later truck racks, would be nice to get a rack with tie rods that have the same taper

anyway...keep up the great work !!

Re: Cross Member Drop?

Unfortunetly I've not done anything with it since Spring. My "wifes side" of the garage has a Lamborghini project in it right now and I have to get it mobil enough to move it out "before cold weather". We had snow Saturday and I scraped frost this morning at 28 degrees so the rush is on. The Lambo is in the way of being able to work on the truck but I'm hoping by the dead of winter to be back on the truck instead. More to come for sure.

Re: Cross Member Drop?

Here's the Lambo I picked up in July.

It was a bare fiberglass body and I don't want to do it the conventional Fiero route. To me a mid engine car needs the correct longitudinal mounted engine (front to back) not transverse. So I ended up using a Dodge 3.5 drivetrain, Porsche 944 front end, and built a tube chassis. It will be rolling this week and probably running before Thanksgiving. Hope to have it drivable under it's own power before Christmas so I can move it around the yard much more easily.

Re: Cross Member Drop?

Paint is on order. Decided to try the single stage Acrylic Urethane that Summit offers now. It's going to be blue pearl with a white roof. Also got the bed mostly assembled and sitting on the truck now with fenders mocked in place. Man this thing is long. It looks MUCH lnger in person. It's going to be crazy. Still much to do to finish the bed and mount it etc. but progress is good.
