CST - Custom Sport Truck ???

Okay I picked up a clean 1969 CST C-20 which I am working to return close to stock but with a little performance twist for fun. The CST package of my truck consist of T-400 trans, 4:10 12 bolt rear end, full gauge package not including tach, and one you don't see to often on regular trucks is the light over the back window on top of the cab. Is there anything else about the CST trim I am missing? Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: CST - Custom Sport Truck ???

CST = Custom Sport Truck and was the equivalent to the Cheyenne introduced in 1971.

Check you SPID and check under the seat for a build sheet. These two articles will have valuable information on what options came with your truck.

SS Tim would be a great help for you to decode what you have.

Take care,
Tom

That is good stuff and you are lucky to have that. Now you can match the numbers with your vin and make sure your seat was not swapped and go from there. This is better than Magnum P.I trying to decode and see what your truck came off the assembly line with.

Great day! Everything checks out on the truck. Turquoise & White with upper and lower molding is what she was built with. 350 and turbo 400. Engine is original along with transmission.... amazing how many numbers you have available to match things up... Even said chrome hupcaps... on the build sheet...

It will not go back completely the same but close enough for a family project.

Re: CST - Custom Sport Truck ???

nice looking truck. CST is only a Custom Comfort and Appearance package with extra widgets installed to upgrade it from there - has nothing to do with tach, TH400, etc. It DOES give you all the items listed in the 69 brochure below:

Note - your CST emblem should not be present - it is superseded by the CustomCamper20 badge (Z81) on the fenders. If you had the emblems, that is, I see they've been shaved - but just wanted to mention.

Looks like it originally had the 8.25 x 16.5 wheels on it too. They are pretty hard to find....

I went with 16 steel wheels. Out getting powdercoated right now. Tires came in from Tirerack and cab/bed mount kit from LMC has also arrived. She will start looking normal/stock soon.

Re: CST - Custom Sport Truck ???

I am working on my second CST. This one comes with a factory auto trany, power steering, in dash ac, and power breaks.

My first build was a 69' CST Longhorn and this will be my last hotrod build...just feels fitting

12-bolt rear end in a C-20? I'd expect it to have a H072 Eaton 10-bolt axle.
