Re: 67 long box

changes in progress on last cross member, added 2"x 1.75" angle and 1" square tube as the bed stop. It seems I keep adding more work, why do I do this, passion for the build.

Re: 67 long box

had to cut down the gate hold bars, looks easy but to get the amount out each half so it folds back up is a little tricky.

Nice work. I bet the build is on your mind day and night. Make sure you keep the gears oiled down because walking around with smoke coming out of your ears is never a good sight.

Re: 67 long box

Put another 250 lbs through the sand blaster and maybe another 200 tomorrow. That stuff gets into everything but does a nice job.

I love the way it turned out, no step and will take an experienced eye to see the change. I want to keep the look but not look altered with the raised bed.
Thanks Derek

Re: 67 long box

Bought another 250lbs of blasting media and more glass shard media for my blast cabinet. Cut 14 pieces of 2" tube and made spacers for the bed raise. Welded a washer on both sides, blasted, painted. Blasted some other parts, painted as well.
I had a good day. Time for a pop.

Re: 67 long box

I propose a challenge to you sir.
Fabricate your own upper tubular control arms with corrected ball joint geometry for a 2" drop spring.
Will you accept this challenge?

I think I could do it, but I have to finish this truck to pass an Ontario Canada safety. Once that is done then I can play with the rest of the stuff I really want to do, like my own front suspension so I can beef up the front wheel size. I will get back to this challenge after May 2016 when it's on the road and I'm enjoying it, I will have more time to play in the shop.
Thanks Derek
