Installing components in a naked cab.

It has been a while since I removed everything from my cab before repairing the rust. Months and months later, I am ready to put it all back in.

I have everything bagged and labeled, so this shouldn’t be a problem, but is there a smart order to install them back in? I don’t want to fight with other components during the rebuild.

This is not an A/C cab.
3ott.

Any tips will be appreciated.

Re: Installing components in a naked cab.

Good question...

1. Firewall insulation
2. Kick panel vents
3. Emergency brake unless it’s under the column like a 67-8
4. Brake pedal assembly
5. Brake booster or master cylinder rod.
6. Wiper motor
7. Wiring harness with all dash switches
8. Gas pedal, Oil line and th400 wiring if required
9.dash pad
10. Radio
11. Heater sssembly, pre assembled with controls and cables.
12. Rear window
13. Carpet seat belts and seat
Any order on the remainder but glove box and liner last after heater is tested.

Install the gauge cluster before you install the column, or at least before you tighten the column up.

Great timing. This exact question has been rolling around in my head this weekend.
