Need Advice Please ? Lowering Rear “Leafs”

Can you guys suggest a simple way to lower the rear of my 71 with leaf springs ? Heavy Duty Rear Springs are listed on SPID also. I’m just trying to get the truck to sit level, when empty the rear is way higher then the front. Do you get any noticeable drop by just removing the extra leafs ?

Wow don’t everyone answer at once ? Was hoping someone with heavy duty rear springs would chime in...

Re: Need Advice Please ? Lowering Rear “Leafs”

Mine is a C20 Camper Special, so it has heavy duty rear leafs. I also did not like the overly raked look. Put on 3" drop shackles and that dropped the rear 1.5" or so, definitely less than 2". Ended up having a shop re-arc the leafs to have it only slightly higher than the front, which is the the stance I think looks best.

In addition to adding drop shackles, there are quite a few threads of people who also remove a leaf, particularly the overload leaf. Have heard that is not the best thing to do, but it seems plenty of people are happy with it. The only other alternative I know of is to buy a whole new leaf pack set. Guess it just depends on how much $$$ you are willing to spend.
