That Cool '63 is HOT!

I don't want to ruffle any feathers, just see things how I do and same with how I feel. I never got the craze over the '51 Merc (I like them, too) as being the "it" of lead sleds when I so much more dig the 49/50 Ford Club Coupe. Those cars have been my favorite since I was building 3 in 1 AMT kits during that era. I always saw most custom Mercs as looking a lot like a Hudson, even wondered if that was how the car got chosen originally as prime customizing material. Like a poor man's Hudson, since they were a more expensive car. Maybe I just saw Hudsons as looking like a chopped Merc. Chicken or egg syndrome I guess for me. The Hudsons sure had that fat slug chopped top look from factory. Now... take one of those and customize it and you really have yourself a sled!

I've always liked the club coups.Do you remember the one posies suspension built in the late 80's or early 90's?It was yellow and red combo and hammered to the ground.

Yes I do remember that one. I wonder if we could find pictures. And I'm with you on the Club Coupe. Henry died and his son came right out with their first integrated body style in '49. Love those cat eyes and long deck! They were a transitional body design, custom by design. It carried over the 5 window coupe top design and retained the exposed trunk hinges.

Chevy had the transitional car of theirs, too. And I truly love those as well. They carried over the 5 window coupe AND torpedo back! I loves me some '49ers! They also came out with their first hardtop in the later shoeboxes
