It's the same rims/tires that were on the 84, and they never dropped. Although that one was dropped with cut coils and removed leafsprings.

I wanted to get a static drop kit, but I'm worried more about the spindles rubbing on the rim than anything. I've seen it happen on 17" rims

Speartech makes a really nice set-up. Also you can run the whole M-90 package from Mast Motorsports which is pretty slick - that's what powers my motor.

Thanks!! I'm gonna go with the Speartech wiring since I already have the ECM.

That M90 package they have is tempting, but I don't know how much problems I would run into trying to get the tuners to work on it.

Re: "The Relapse" 78 Chevy Stepside

Alright planning on ordering the wiring this week as well as the motor mounts.

Still unclear on how to go about this. The truck is currently and inline 6.

Can I buy some SBC mounts(Do they just mount up or do I have to re-drill holes on the chassis?) install them and then buy the S&P LS1 Motor Mount Adapter Plates?

Cool Re: "The Relapse" 78 Chevy Stepside

I like how the previous owner of yours took a sawzall to the rear bumper so it would fit. Gotta love that hillbilly ingenuity...

Can't seem to find a replacement rear step bumper for my old square, mine got bent from the previous owner colliding with something. Probably one too many cervezas while visiting the local fishing hole... I may just have to have this one re-straightened and replated if it's even possible.

Haha! Some people get jacked up on "Power Block" and do stuff like this!!

I don't even know what the rear bumper is supposed to look like? I've seen repop bumper that say from 67-87

Re: "The Relapse" 78 Chevy Stepside

Got a little side tracked, but want to go full speed and have it ready by Summer if not before.

Has anybody dealt with BRP Hot Rods? Been thinking of getting this kit instead of piecing things here and there.

Re: "The Relapse" 78 Chevy Stepside

You know, those times are long gone even down here. But I'm a lowrider at heart and I grew up when the Choo Choo scene was at it's peak. I don't plan on keeping the rims but I did have something like this in mind to give it a throwback look somewhat.

Problem is, the real life Centerlines don't look like that in the bigger sizes.

Re: "The Relapse" 78 Chevy Stepside

Wanted to make an offer to give them a good home but you are still using them, so never mind. I can't make up my mind if I want to keep the rallys or go for an old school rod look with steelies and moon caps. Not even close to being ready for the street.

Those are super clean seats. The buckle indicates they are from a 77. Looks like a perfect match for your current exterior color.

Did you get them installed yet?
