I hate to be this guy but do you know what the difference is between the v8 and I6 bellhousings? Is it just the pivot ball location?

There is a number of differences and there is a thread on here with pictures. Basically the V8 cross member mounts further forward to mount the engine in the V8 position over the front suspension crossmember using the forward frame mounting holes (engine mounts) and as such the bellhousing crossmember moves up the rise in the frame so the crossmember is angled differently to fit the rise in the frame.

Mounting position doesn't matter much as it's going in my 54 Chevy I was just curious about the starter bolting up correctly get me a shipping quote to 82930 I'll take it

Yes that bell housing will work if it has the lower mounting bolt holes, the difference in the 4spd and 3spd bell housings is the center hole for the input shaft throw out bearing support, the hole for this is larger on 4spd.
