66 rearend

Hey guys I am new to the forum and my rearend rolled cras due to the person that owned it before me. So I have a question the axles are 17 spline In my other rear end I got out of my trailer can I put axles from a 73 and up chevy so I can convert the back to 5 lug I have 6 lug right now???? I will switch the front but want to do the rear while I have it out.

Later axles are longer by about 3/4 inch . Brian
