3/4 ton power brakes on 1/2 ton truck

Last year I bought a 3/4 ton power brake booster/master cylinder/proportioning valve setup on the board here. I am getting ready to put it in and I am going to replace the master cylinder with a new one. I didn't think about it and bought one for a 1/2 ton truck. I guess I should buy a 3/4 ton master cylinder and use the propertioning valve that come with that setup?

Will that work ok?

ttt. curious if 3/4 ton power brakes are better than 1/2 ton on a 1/2 ton truck.

Re: 3/4 ton power brakes on 1/2 ton truck

I decided to buy a whole new booster/master cylinder assembly from Advance Auto parts. I ordered one for a 3/4 ton truck and it is the exact duplicate of the 3/4 ton booster and master cylinder that I had. I'll just use the brackets and prop valve from the old one and hopefully everythign will work well!

Re: 3/4 ton power brakes on 1/2 ton truck

I run a 3/4 ton booster/master cylinder on my 1/2 ton truck. It works great....don't know if it is an improvement over the 1/2 ton setup, but I am not complaining!
