Seems like a LOT of work and materials for under $5K. Just not my cup of tea.

For once I'm glad something has the wrong bed on it! They didn't waste a bunch of 67-72 fenders... could still be a good candidate for a crew cab or tahoe conversion.

I've always wondered what was the first object to be described by the word, "abhorrent." Now I've stopped wondering.

Looks like if you take off the support beam they put in, you could still put in a rear axle and sell the bed for scrap.

If I got it I would turn it back into a suburban and scrap the bed.

At least they took their time and did the fuel cell in the bed super sanitary.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Buillt under the influence? I know, he wanted to tell people he drives an 18 wheeler.

Re: seen in Hemmings: stretched 8 wheeled 1970 suburban pickup

This truck has been the subject of many a locked thread. Something tells me it won't be long before it happens again.
I for one can admire the sheer amount of work it must have taken to build it. The only question I have is, how is something like that legal to drive? I would think that the overall length would make it very difficult to drive, maybe even dangerous.

Not too pretty but you have to respect the amount of work. With all those tires i wonder if it was built for a hot tub. Id say its worth that for parts.

Re: seen in Hemmings: stretched 8 wheeled 1970 suburban pickup

It was built in the 90's a time when trucks had spinning beds or jaccuzzis in the back.Maybe even a set of wire rims that stuck out about 4 inches.

Wow! That's both awesome and horrible at the same time. I'd say it needs more than "some work". That thing needs a total restoration.

You could spray on some of that stuff you see on TV in the bed. You know, they spray it on the screen door in the bottom of the boat. Fill the bed with water, then light the gas tank on fire.
