Some of both, Del does great work, I've been in his shop many times and seen a lot of these trucks in the various stages of completion. What makes Del special is that he has the assembly of these particular types of trucks down pat, as a professional repeatable process. I have great respect for his work even if the frame dragger thing isn't really my cup of tea. His shop is also practically a period automotive fun house that you can't help but have that Nightmare Before Christmas - "What's This!" song stuck in your head when you're there.

That said, this thread hasn't really detailed any of the intricacies of what goes into one of these trucks or the build process at all, which *is* impressive when you see it. But with just an occasional teaser pic on here, it's like school girls at a Bieber concert. Power to Del on that one, he's a humble, mellow guy with Rock Star status here with little real exposure. Shows there is a lot to be said for staying an enigma.

Re: CAUTION: Delmo's Speed & Kustom :BEWARE

I appreciate your perspective on Del's talents and his shop. With that said, I do not appreciate your condescending tone toward this thread and those who post here. I would love to see more details on Del's creations but they are not shared (I understand why) so we cannot feature them here. I enjoy the occasional pic of Del's work and the reactions of others, like me, who do not have the opportunity to hangout at his place. What I ask is this, if you have nothing positive to post please take others feelings into consideration and refrain from posting in a negative manner. Thanks, Buck

There is lots of details on Dels work on the PBFab and Old Crow Facebook pages, as well as other threads in this forum. 95% of what Del does is chassis and drivetrain work of which none of that is featured at all in this thread, oh and hotrods and belly tank racers. Other than his wheels and some valve covers the only thing Del about this thread is an occasional pic of an aired out bagger, which he may have built the chassis for, but without the details are pretty ubiquitous patina trucks. Most of Dels trucks are reassembled pretty much as he got them. With the exception of maybe the bed floor raised for clearance the before and after pics of his projects externally look like they did originally but with an altered stance.

The real Del is in the details. Not trying to be condescending I'd just like to see a thread named after his shop feature more of what his shop does. Hell the only thing close to a chassis detail pic in this thread is a pic of *my* frame, which in the end Del didn't work on and is now with Nate at Porterbuilt.

I agree that Del has created a sort of "off the menu" niche for himself, I read somewhere a comment that called one of his builds a #3 combo which is hilarious. I wish we had access to more pictures of the little details that make the trucks he builds special, but we don't and I understand why. He recently posted this on IG...

It speaks volumes about protecting the integrity of a build and ones livelihood by not sharing the trade secrets that sets ones self apart. The bottom line is we love the look of the trucks Del builds and we do drool over them, even without pics of the intricate details. But given the fact that we cannot control the access to pics of the details your comments are of little value and serve only to denigrate those who post their positive feeling towards the images we do see. This is certainly an open forum (to an extent) and you are absolutely free to express your opinions, but before you hit “Submit Reply” please ask yourself if the opinions are helpful. At this point I don’t understand why you spend any time on this thread, you have clearly seen Del’s work to an extent none of have or possibly ever will so this is all of little consequence to you.
