Re: Calling all LS1 converted trucks.

Alright, another question.

What size tires and rear axle ratio are you T56 guys running? I'd imagine with six gears without picking just the right combo, 1st or 6th would be useless.

I need a new rear gear, might as well plan ahead now instead of buying twice.

Question Re: Calling all LS1 converted trucks.

A build thread on one of these conversions would really be helpful. I'm thinking that there would be wiring issues to iron out as well and in addition to the motor/tranny costs, you would probably want to re-wire the truck - ?

Re: Calling all LS1 converted trucks.

Does anyone know if there are any vendors here that would do the LS1 swap for an individual?

If that link dosen't work do a search on summit site with part # NAL-25534399 without hole
or NAL-25534398 with breather hole. hope that helps

Go with a 4:11 (4:10) or a 4:56

3.73's here, and I've talked to two other people with the same setup, and they say it's perfect to run 3.73's and one wasn't happy with 4.11's

See my signature, several pages of buildup with pictures.

68-s-s is right - expect to pay at least 6k including the drivetrain, and this doesn't include the work involved.

Re: Calling all LS1 converted trucks.

My brother is running a 4:56 in his 99 silverado with the t56 and it is his daily driver and 4:11 in his 69 camaro with a t56. My old man had 3:73 in his 69 camaro and it would get about 2mpg more than my brothers but brothers would get him on take off with the 4:11's. As for the 2mpg, 3:73's were getting 23mpg and the 4:11's were getting 21mpg. A 4:56 is fine if your are running a t56 but if you are running a auto I wouldn't go over a 4:11.
