The front of my truck already has the frame horns cut so since im stuck using one of these does anyone have a pick of where the turn signals would go on a 71-72 for it so be street legal? All of my side marker lights are shaved. I appreciate it.

Stock location is shown in the pic below. You can put them wherever you want, so long as they can be seen from the front.

Are any of these truck from florida. Just asking because I got pulled over 3 times in one month for not having a rear bumper which I didn't know was against the law. I asked the trooper how come you can buy a new truck without one then. He told me that is because everyone wants something different but everything is supposed to have an extention of the frame beyond the exterior of the vehicle front and rear. Personally I think this is bull shasta because i would rather fix some sheetmetal as opposed to getting my frame straightened.

Those are alot of really nice looking trucks and then there were some really funny looking also. Never liked the idea of front roll pans but now I'm wondering.

I think it looks good all mono-chromed, it doesnt stick out like a sore thumb like a chrome bumper

But it would look good with a roll pan too

so short story to revive the thread for more posts. the first night i bought my truck i drove it home, pulled it in my tiny garage and got my fiance... i told her to wait outside while i pull it out (ear to ear grin) well... the corner of the bumper caught one of the unfinished studs in the garage and tore off the bumper!!! I know. so i have been thinking about a roll pan but i CANT seem to find many pics of gmc's with front roll pans. any help? i am planning on shaving most of everything so a smooth look might be needed.

just a basic question: what are you welding the pan to if you still want to be able to remove the fenders independently? do you make a bracket behind it?

I havent bought the roll pan yet so maybe this is all very obvious when I actually have the part together.

If you want the completely smooth look in the front, you don't remove the fenders independently anymore. You have to remove the whole front clip at once. Some detailed pics in my build thread of the frame modification and the welded together front clip w/ front rollpan if you are curious. Still not painted yet though so can't see the final results yet.

If you don't mind the seams, the other option is to just screw the front roll pan into each fender. On mine, there was a tab on each end of the rollpan used to attach to each fender to hold it in place.
