So fuel wheels aren't very popular with the c20s huh? I was wanting one of their less crazy styled sets

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

Haha, looking back now I should've just read the tire size but I wasn't sure if you fit the caps on some other set of rims or not. I have always liked those 68 caps and have a set that I've been thinking of getting re-done so i could put them on my truck, I'd just need to get a set of steelies first.

Those were originally a painted steel set. I had them refinished, and chromed.
I really love those wheels and caps.

Nice! I think they are some of the best looking caps out there.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

Came across this thread because I'll need new tires on the 72 before long. It has 16.5" wheels, which just aren't practical. The rear wheels are wide and tires don't seem to exist.

Looking through the thread, safe to say a 16" or 17" wheel works?

This is what I have on mine. Yes, you are somewhat limited in 16.5"

I don't know how wide my rear wheels are, but the tires are 12.50 R16.5. I may just run with 16" wheels. I know of a deal on four 8.75 x 16.5 mags with decent tires for $350. A lot cheaper than the alternative, but if the tires go bad, I'm near square one again.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

I've been wheel shopping for a while. It was a toss up for me for the 68. I was looking for something retro-modern, polished, no chrome in a 16"x8" that didn't show much ugly break drum.

I settled on two finalists. I'm not a huge fan of the fake beadlocks, but it is a subtle modern touch and you pretty much can't get a wheel without it anymore.

My first pick was the Method Standard in a 16x8". This is a modern play on the wagon wheel. I was even thinking about getting them powdercoated white to match the white wagon wheels (which I think would be a GREAT idea for someone). They do offer this in an 8x6.5, 16x8 with 0 backspacing. These are a good buy online for ~160/wheel.

Number 2 was the American Racing Ansen off-road AR969. They offer this in a 16x8 0 backspacing 8x6.5. The black windows are pretty sweet I think. I found these online for $150/ea + free shipping and no tax.

I settled on and just order the Ansens. I'll post a pic when they are on.

Not bad, pretty faithful to their original 16.5" 8 lug Ansen Sprint slots of the 70's IMO.

I cant find these wheels anywhere on line.

Anybody know where I can buy some of these ?

You won't, they were discontinued by the end of 2014 early 2015. Many have tried. There were 3 left in the nation last year when I was hunting them. Trevor

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

Those ansens aren't very deep either like we need for the classic look. They were made more for newer rides.
