Headliner Backing Thickness ?
I'm going to be replacing the headliner in my 97
I've been shopping for the material to use, but I'm seeing that some have 3/16" foam backing & some have 1/8" foam backing. My question is does it make a difference in what size backing thickness I get?

Re: Headliner Backing Thickness ?
I don't think it really matters except maybe how it feels. I like to use plush material so it's nice and soft to the touch, even though I shouldn't be touching it.
My S10:

Re: Headliner Backing Thickness ?
Use the 3/16 foam backed headliner material , The 1/8 is used on cars with a sliding sunroof panel to allow them to slide easier and not hang up .
