My blazer that is. I got the top off today. Well actually my children and one extra 14 year old boy helped and we got my blazer top off. I want to thank everybody who told dumb old me about the bolts in the sunvisors.

Once you get those out you know that thing comes off fairly easily. The great thing is I didn't find any rust underneath.

I don't think the top has ever been off.
Drove topless for first time all day. Tried to get my wife to ride topless but couldn't talk her into it.

She ain't as adventurous as she used to be. Oh well at least the ride was great.

Oh yeah can you tell 4 wheel drive was needed a little? Had a small monsoon the last couple of days and couldn't resist trying it out.

OK Kidd, now I'm going to tell you how to get the back of your hood down. With a friend---open the hood and loosen the 3 bolts that hold the hood hinges to the fenders--each side. Now one person pushes the hood open a little further then normal which puts pressure on the hinges backward. Now retighten the bolts. Relax the hood. Carefully close the hood checking for rear clearance between the hood and the cowl. May take a few tries and may require you to re adjust the front to rear hood adjustment with the hinge to hood bolts. This trick will get the back of the hood down even with well worn hinges! Lets us know how it work out. Topless is tops!! Huck

Thanks for info on getting hood down. Already know how but next week I am going to take hood off and hopefully get her blasted. We are just driving her around some this week so I could scratch an itch.
They ALL don't look as good as some others topless. Just like anything else as long as there ain't much sag when you take the top off it's a joyful sight!
Been driving for 2 days better give her a rest, NAH!!!

Your going to have the hood sand blasted? DON'T DO IT! It will warp!
Maybe I misunderstood but fair warning, don't sand blast any flat surface like a hood.

Naw media blasted. Much cooler form of blasting doesn't heat metal enough to cause warpage. Guy that does it is a friend of a friend and he does all the old cars and even old Harleys around here. He will probably end up painting it for me too. Thanks for warning but I already new sand caused warpage from a pedal car I did myself a LONG time ago. Thanks again.
