Fuel line length

Does anyone know how long of a fuel line I should get if I want to run it from the fuel pump to the fuel tank selector which is on the left side of the seat on the floor. I have a guy who can make braided steel fuel lines, but I need to figure out what length to get. Thanks

Re: Fuel line length

I'd estimate at least 40 feet!! LOL!!
Just kidding!!
Make it easy!
Get some bendable cheap wire and mock up your lines.
I've used coat hanger wire to mock up brake and fuel lines.
With hose, just add a few inches on each end for any clearance mistakes. Better too long than too short!

Re: Fuel line length

coat hangers are good for templates another thing that works good is a tape measure that you can get wt the hardware store

Re: Fuel line length

Thanks guys. Great idea. I think I saw a spool of mechanics wire in the barn that I can use.
