New member, just bought a 71

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself since I'm sure I'll have a few questions in the future.

I'm a big fan of junky longbeds. My last project was an 81 K10, but the body was in too nice of shape and it was a shortbed so I never liked it that much. I've always wanted a 67-72, they're my dream truck. I was browsing craigslist last week and someone had a beautiful 71 that was looking for trades, so I offered him my beater Sonoma with 240k I had picked up super cheap and he accepted!

Picked it up on Saturday:

Got it home and cleaned it up a bit, and I got an awesome truck. Interior is all there and in good shape (except for the seat), no holes in the floor, disc brakes, power steering, a little bit of rust in the corners but that's how I like them!

It currently has a 350/TH350 but the engine is seized. Don't know about the trans. That doesn't matter though - I got a sweet deal on a 6.0/4L80 combo that should be shipping out next week!

I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions, but I'll probably start a build thread once I get to work on it.

The world will still be turning when you're gone... like hopefully all of the C10s in the world.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Where's the best place for a build thread? Got some good work done today

Sweet rig and welcome to the site from another Denver local. You can post up a new thread in the sub-forum "pickup projects and builds". Can't wait to see some more pics
