tuck'n 20s

finally got motivated again put my disc brake kit on. I bought the SSBC front and rear disc setup, the rear is an 11in rotor with a single piston caliper, powdercoated black. the fronts are I think 12in rotors with a dual piston caliper.

thanks...here's some pics of the fronts! i installed these Boss 335s and realized after installing them the hub sticks out to far and the center caps will not fit. i called Boss and they told me i had to install a spacer but if I do that'll cause the wheel to rub on the fender. any suggestions?

I also replaced all the weather stripping, GM still makes all the stripping for our trucks and i saved all the part numbers if anyone needs them.
No more air leaks!!!!

Thanks bro, I went all out before the wife and kids come...lol. But the front are 255/40r20 and the rear are 275/40r20 on 20x8.5 wheels

On the center cap problem, Could you put a shorter hub cap on. I'm guessing the problem is the heavy duty spindles have longer hub caps. 335s fit my '88 fine, but the person i got them from said they had to run spacers. So it has to be the 88-91 spindles has shorter hub caps. My hub caps are 5/8" long.

You are correct that the heavy duty brake setup is the problem, I didn't realize 88-91 had a different brake setup. I tried with the dust cap off but it still hit on the rotor/hub. From what I looked up the spindles and the rotors are different between 88-91 and 92-98. The rotors have a 1/4in difference and that is about how much the rotor/hub stick out past the wheel. P

I'd like to know more about your rear link setup. Where did you get that from and is it on bags or coil springs?

Oh and nothing works quite like flattening the cap down to the point it almost touches the spindle on the inside. Also depending on how much space you need on the rotor you could remove some material from it. I would see how I could shape the bearing cap to make it work.

The setup is from ridetech and its on bags. Awesome quality and install was pretty basic. As far as the front center cap goes I have thought about having the rotor hub machined down but I'm not in love with the wheels so I may just change the wheels. I'll post some pics of the rear setup soon.

Need some input.... I just read about plastic dip, I researched it the best I could this morning and I'm wanting to know has anyone tried this and on what? How does it hold up on wheels when they get wet or when brake dust gets on the wheel?

I haven't plasti-dipped my rims yet but have done body parts (bumpers, mirrors) on the missus's FJ. Has held up really well for 2 years so far.

I have just installed the same Ridetech 4 link air bar on the rear of my 89 GMC RCSB Stepside truck and CoolRide air bags and shocks on the front and am trying to figure out what wheels to get for the truck, I currently have Eagle Alloy 211's 17 x 8 with 5 inch offset and they don't come close to going inside the fenders. I want either 17, 18, or 20 inch wheels. What is the offset and dimension of the wheels and tires that you have on the rear and front??

I'm running 20x8.5 boss 335s w 5.671in backspace With 255/40/20 on the frt and 275/40/20 on the rears. They tuck frt and rear without having to cut or roll the inner lip but you'll want to for added room. IMO the frt tire to tall I may go a smaller tire.
