Found washer in rear axle

Changed the seals in rear axle put shafts back in and found this washer lying in the bottom of the axle don't no where it goes.

I think it’s a spider gear thrust washer - believe it goes between a spider gear and case. Might check the others that aren’t missing a washer to confirm location and orientation.

Agree. That goes behind the spider gears. When you had the diff pin out did you spin an axle? If so the washer could have slipped out.

Happens all the time. The confusing part is some differentials require them and other do not.
