Modern Stereo for 71 Blazer

Any recommendations for an aftermarket stereo for a 71 Blazer? I have a retro looking one that needs to be replaced. Looking for medium priced, nothing fancy, nothing cheap either. Would rather not have to alter the dash and would like CD and/or aux input.

Re: Modern Stereo for 71 Blazer

Not here , but I would go over to the audio section - there's a lot of stuff that guys have done, and if you ask, there will be some suggestions. Retrosound has a decent one, but most of those that fit into the dash without cutting it are not as good as the ones you have to cut the dash for. Welcome to the board!

We sell Custom Autosound Sterio systoms. Those do not require altering your dash and have a host of options. WES

Radio for 71 Blzer

Looking for nothing expensive, but decent that will fit in existing dash without cutting. Have seen retrosound, anything else? Also rear speakers, I was thinking of attaching to roll bar. Anyone seen a slick installation for that?

JPHeathen ... I moved your thread here as you should get a better response to your question. Good Luck.

Re: Modern Stereo for 71 Blazer

I built a small wooden box (open at both ends of course) that would house a modern stereo and stuck it in the glovebox. It has a remote but I run my iPod into the aux-in so I can contol volume and song choice even with the door closed.

Oh, and then I cleaned up the stock AM radio and installed it back in the dash, powers up and even puts static through the stock speaker.
