Plumbing Help.

Have a cabin thats on septic and everything on the main floor users studor vents. I replaced all 3 today. (1 in kitchen cabinet, 1 in bathroom cabinet, 1 under crawlspace next to toilet drain line).

Issue is the toilet/kitchen/washer will gurgle when one is run. The worst is when the washer runs.

I tried capping a few off, running with different combos - no real difference. Here is a schematic with a few pics. Any suggestions ?

this will be a clearer pic below

Re: Plumbing Help.

Clearer verbage on the toilet circled in red.

The larger verticle pipe on left is what goes to the toilet.
The smaller pipe (guessing 3" reduced to 2" to accept studor vent) is on right.

Studor vents are these.

Re: Plumbing Help.

Mine has vacuum breakers...I thnk similar to your vents...they are at the futherest end of each drain run beyond all tie ins...I dont have any problems...my parents had the same gurgling issues and I added vb to theirs..fixed their problems

Re: Plumbing Help.

Is there no main stack in your house. Unless there is a stack some where the septic tank can’t breath. I’ve never seen a plumbing system that only has what we call cheater vents.

Re: Plumbing Help.

you can get away with that style venting ,I assume its ok because its a recreational cabin , if you had better pictures of the actual plumbing I proberly could give you better advice , but from what I can tell is you used in some of the drain tie in areas T instead of a TY , its fine to use a T tie in on the venting side of things ,but a big no no on actual water draining side of the system. basicly the flow of the water is interupted by using a T fitting where a TY fitting keeps a better flow pattern if you can follow what I am saying.

Re: Plumbing Help.

Sorry guys - been travelling.

mongocanfly - thanks.

Leonard60 - only stack to the outside is for the upstairs bedroom. It doesnt go all the way to the basement.

Jrainman - I left the cabin. Its a rental. It basically gurgles most when the Washer is running ..... and impact the toilet the most. Quite bad at times.

The washer drains straight down into the P-TRAP ... you can see that in the 3rd photo. Its the line on the left side of that photo. The bathtub (right line on that photo) drains down by a series of 45 degree tubes.

Right now Im thinking of as options

1) Have the washing maching tie into the other septic tank (which deals with upstairs bathroom/toilet) just to seperate ......

2) Somehow having the end of the run of tankl #1 (you can see it in PIC 4) somehow route outside and vent to air .... that would be a wall and to run it up the wall - and vent near eaves - no idea if allowed/recommended etc.

I would have a plumber do this anyway - as I am not there - but wanting to be ahead of game with possible issue and fixes etc.
