Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..

I used some today..it works great.!....its really not much different than than the primer dust created by sanding....so when sanding most of it comes off...but it shows all the low spots, sanding scratches ,pinholes, and such...but it's kinda messy and I had it all over my hands and didn't want it on my camera..so I didnt get any pics
I'm redoing the lower part of my drivers front fender now..I never was happy with how it turned out before,so I ground the filler off and am redoing it..I'll be sure and grab some pics of it with the powder on it..theres a ton of videos on utube though if you want to see it in action..

Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..

Well..I got the.front fender filled and sanded...then put the guide coat on it...hit it with the 180g and nothing...it didnt need anything else done....I was hoping to show some pics of how it highlights low spots....I guess I got lucky or im getting better at this....I'm going with luck..haha..
So I grabbed the other rear fender and started sanding on it and found a small dent..so I put the guide coat on it...you can see how the guide coat highlights the small dent...along with some other distortion and some sanding scratches around it...I hit that area with some 80g and put a thin coat of metal glaze on it...will finish it later..

That stuff works pretty good. Nice assortment of sanding pads.

I was using black from the dollar store....never did like it...I do like the powder....I'm not worried to much about the cost if its within reason...and especially if it works

I don’t use it because it’s cheap it drys fast and doesn’t clog my paper

Nice job Greg. My dad had a binder flat bed when I was in high school so I read your build with a little bit of nostalgia. Eager to see the finished product. I'm really digging the creativeness that you guys employ while doing these builds. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..

Yep...they did good on customer service.....
I'm thinking of sending my grill to them and letting them chrome it....I've already painted it with the cast blast paint, and I'm fine with it being this color and painted....but still kicking around how it would look chrome against the red paint and black wheels...
Here is the grill painted,....yall let me know what you think..chrome or the satin gray color
Unless I can find a bumper good enough to chrome the bumper will be painted black....
A chrome grill would look better with a chrome bumper I think...
