Engine transmission CenterPoint

I will be removing an lq4 attached to a 4l80e from a Chevy Express tomorrow. I would like to do the whole thing at once. I've taken off the accessory drive, the intake, and wiring harness. My question is, if I put a chain between the heads at the rear of the engine, will the engine transmission combo lift up balanced? Or will it be front-heavy? I do have a friend coming to help and I'm sure my seven-year-old son will be chomping at the bit to get his hands greasy!

Re: Engine transmission CenterPoint

A 5.3 with 4l60e is balanced more toward the rear of the engine. I bought a leveler that allowed me to adjust using a lever. That also helped when installing and it was only $30.

Re: Engine transmission CenterPoint

A chain just at the rear of the heads will end up pretty close to level and will be easy to float around.

When I did my 5.3/4L80E even with my leveler set with the balance point all the way back, it was still a little tail heavy, but not that bad. I don't think I have any photos of the engine going in, just the old 350/th350 coming out. My 4L80E also came out of a van.
