I was thinkin I was just goin to use my metal shrinker to get it in there. It'll be a tight fit, but I think it'll work and I can put vinegar in there with it and it'll come out spot free too!!! Although, cutting it up with strategic placement is a rather tempting idea. I mean the metal shrinker is about as difficult to use as the stupid wire stretcher.

or better yet you could try sticking it in the washer machine. all the tumbling will help get it clean toooo. then in the dryer! I prefer tide

Actually mine is a parts washer that I installed in my house that I just occasionally use for dishes!

Now let us move on to some frame cleaning. I started out brushing in my grape smuggler shorts(darn, forgot to take pics) but after about the 37teenth little wire ejecting off the 12000 rpm Gravitron, I decided to dawn that personal protective equipment, or PPE to the late man. You know partaking of ones delicious beverage would be much easier if these stupid masks had a hole in them! Duhhh!

Seriously though, I'm always reading how people are saying they wouldn't do it like this and blah blah blah. I get that the nooks and crannies are tough to get, but a little elbow grease from the grinder, a little patience, and a big extension cord to your neighbor's house really can keep ones budget in check if you can't afford some fancy blastin. I know blastin gets it done faster and better, but wire wheelin really isn't that bad. Just put on some big boy britches, grab an apple juice, and feel accomplished at what you accomplished by accomplishing some accomplishment. Make sense?!

Good job on the outside of the frame. I knew you had them little ones cleaning. What? Its only a foot and a half off the ground?

Side note for liquid intake:
On drinking with a dust mask on I’ve found it easiest by drilling a small hole in the mask and feeding a flexible Dixie straw through it.

That is awesome!

Would you like to know what a true hero is? Cat from a tree? No. Catch a thief that just stole an old lady's purse? Nope again. Saving a baby from a burning building maybe? Not even close. How about my dad saving a crate engine from a burning truck!!! Yeah, I know, TRUE HERO!!! I'll be using the crate short block. The heads are 64 cc of the Vortec variety and an Edelbrock Performer intake. I'm thinkin about doin a custom grind on a roller cam and maybe strokin it. Mmmm, that's nice. I'll be happy with 400 or so gerbils workin OT. The engine is going to be assembled by my dad's buddy that assembled his race Vega engine. I want to assemble it but this guy builds top fuel engines so I'm pretty sure he'll squeeze all those little varmints for all they are worth. I figure 36:1 compression oughta button er up nicely.

Sure he does it's one of those foot operated pumps he has his little helpers jump up and down on it while he uses the air tools.

He's got an air compressor. A big diesel powered 18 wheeled one. I'm thinking truck running in the street, a long air hose up into the garage and he has all the air he needs. Don't forget the company fuel credit card too.

Sorry, didn't mean to be cryptic. A 25-30 gal air compressor around 5 hp will run around $100 to $150 used, that's where I started out and its amazing what you can do with one of those and some harbor freight air tools even paying their retail. Air ratchets and impacts being obvious, but you've proved them not necessary on your truck. But die grinders and angle die grinders and gravity-fed sand blasters are equally cheap there at the $10 to $15 range. I'm not saying you need it, but stuff gets easier with it really quick.

Yes Bruiser, I do have a compressor, besides the big rig turba-deezle skinny on the bear report from yer rockin chair, over! It's a 35 gal, 7.7scfm, noisy... I meant oil-less unit. Impact, ratchet, high speed, etc. all in the toy box. I'm still accumulating metal working toys but for the most part I can undo the hell out of a bolt! I actually have used air for the majority of the tear down, because I'm lazy and I like what the neighbors may or may-not be thinking hearing brawny, flannel wearing, pneumatic man-noises coming from my car hold! My dad has a HF blaster he has never used and my cousin has a siphon hose and nozzle so things may be in the works, especially if we set it up at my dad's. I hope his tiny 120 gal, 50 bajillion scfm, Air America(just sounds cool) compressor will run it...

Now that is something I think I am going to have to pick up. Good ol Harbor Freight! 20 bucks plus some media, and a Bompificated cabinet and I'll be saving money left and right!

I bet! Your truck is already perty! I'm thinkin since I haven't driven mine in so long is why I've had a generally enjoyable time doing this so far. I'm past the "missing driving her" phase, kinda. I think it is probably harder for you guys that are already driving your toy. I know it would be hard for me to consciously stop driving knowing it's going to be a while till I can drive it again. Then you want to rush, then comes stress, anxiety, mistakes, loss of job due to calling in sick all the time to work on it, then getting fired, an addiction to yellow jackets and red bulls for those multi-day mechanicking marathons, then the divorces, interventions, after school specials on ABC, then the E-True Hollywood story, I've seen it a hundred times. I'm just lucky that I let it sit and rot for 12 years, to avoid all that, which was my plan from the beginning. Always plan ahead.





So Ford owners would have some place safe to walk. Simple and funny!
