tryin to decide...20's or 22's

I am lookin for some input from some guys who have had either or both. I like the big rim look, but im not sure whether to get 20's or 22's. I have never seen a truck like ours in person with rims or this would be easier. I dont wanna get 20's and when they are on, wish I had gone bigger.

Post up a picture of your truck, lowered or .. ? Which wheels were you looking at? I can Photoshop it for you and give you a general idea.

Can't go wrong with either. Cost may also play a factor especially if you plan on going billet

Budget is the biggest factor IMO. I like them all, stock steelies to big billets. I think you really need to be bagged to pull off 22s. No offense .. just my opinion.

Re: tryin to decide...20's or 22's

I am a firm believer in wheels complimenting a truck, not the other way around. I've never seen a set of 22 ' s that don't look overkill on any build. 20 ' s with the right sidewall can really lend style to these trucks. Overkill is obviously subjective though.

Re: tryin to decide...20's or 22's

I kinda want to get a set of 8" made up to start a new trend but I can't figure out the spacer needed to clear the caliper!!

I would go with the 20's, btw. A much more "standard" size to day that will give you more wheel/tire options.

this is exactly what I was thinking. I love the look of 22's but im kinda leaning towards 20's. I really like the deep dish look. I also really like the american racing torque thrusts in 20 with a nice deep dish.......

Re: tryin to decide...20's or 22's

here's a pic with 20's all the way around. TT2s, approx 4.5 / 6" drop. If you can find / take a similar picture of your truck I can 'shop it for ya.

Re: tryin to decide...20's or 22's

I don't know what your plans are for a drop, but heres mine with 20s (first two pics)and then 22s (the last two). Bagged of course. That being said, I will eventually go back to 20s, but run a 20x14 in the rear with some meat. I just love the look of a "modern pro-street" truck.

Re: tryin to decide...20's or 22's

I have 22"s but if I had it to do over I would do 20"s instead. IMO a 28 or 29 inch tire looks good on a lowered truck and with a 22 there isn't much sidewall basically rubber bands. I wouldn't say they look bad just think 20"s would have looked better on mine in the end.

I think you meant 18's or 19's but I couldn't help it.

Although this is certainly not my style, I do have to give props for the amount of work, time & money that went into building it. Personally I would have went with much bigger wheels & tires

Colin your truck is incredible. Do you have a build thread on it?

Re: tryin to decide...20's or 22's

is the backspacing what gives the rear wheel that deep dish look? or is that just the style of wheel? that is the look im goin for, and im thinkin in a 20. most pics have just the rear wheel with this deep dish look, any reason for that?

From what i understand the backspacing is what gives you that deep dish look if you don't want to have really big wide tires. And you would have to cut your bed if you go with big back tires. If you do much back space on it though you will have to cut the rear end down a little but defiantly gives you a nice look. Heres a pic of my truck with 20s

I'd have to agree, I think the only way to pull of 22's is to be air bagged and to pull off a set of 20's you need very little or no wheel gap to look correct.
