Not worth my headache, plus there is very little 60-66 parts supply in NJ.

Re: Project 66: LS and Frame on the Ground

Waiting on a few more bits that are taking forever but in the mean time doing some small items to get some stuff off the list. I debated doing body matched wheels but I really like it. Also doing rear disc conversion tomorrow.

Re: Project 66: LS and Frame on the Ground

Fbody Oil Pan installed and got the transmission in as well....slowly but surely. Will be tackling some more wiring and then my high hump install on my cab and then shooting to put the cab back on.

Re: Project 66: LS and Frame on the Ground

All i got to do today was cut out the low hump and mock up the high hump, had to replace a seized caliper in my pickup - hopefully more updates tomorrow.

Re: Project 66: LS and Frame on the Ground

Decided to put the cab on today since all my air line and wiring is basically done. Rear cab mounts are off about a 1/2 inch which sucks but I guess for a kit that comes with no instructions I could have done worse.

How does your neighbor with the solar panels feel about your environmentally unfriendly project?

Re: Project 66: LS and Frame on the Ground

Hurt my back and some other **** going on but was able to get some work done.
Cab mounts in the rear were off, moved them back and welded them up and got the cab on where it should be. All the air lines are in and not leaking. Brake lines are started as well as fuel, tank, and rear bumper. Did a small notch on the cab as well for my driveshaft.
Really wanna drive this thing sooner than later.

Liked this pic. Slowly chipping away. Finishing brake lines tomorrow and maybe wiring up gas tank.

Re: Project 66: LS and Frame on the Ground

Got my switch suspension hinges started today. Videos online help a bit but another thing you have to measure 38x before doing since nothing is that clear.
Took me about an hour to get these mounted

Re: Project 66: LS and Frame on the Ground

Brake and fuel is complete. Wiring now the starter to battery and alternator so slowly trying to figure that out. These Switch Suspension hinges are giving me a headache. The hood sits great until the hinge plates are added. Going to have to either weld them directly to the hood or hack the hood support up to make them work and hood sit decent.

Re: Project 66: LS and Frame on the Ground

A bunch of small progress last few weeks and finally got her started today. Waiting on a new ignition switch and she should be all good to go in that department. No real visual progress but I put the sound deadening down, ordered carpet and ordered new sills for the doors so I am hoping to "wrap up" the interior by the end of next week and get this to the muffler shop.
The bed is going to be hollow until I figure out where to even start with that. Lastly my buddy who owns a shop is going to help with the hood hinges because they are the worst designed things I have ever dealt with.
