8man Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2017 Location: Bryan, Texas Posts: 2,285	Ol' Blue's new engine?? I picked up a 5.3L from a 2011 Chevy truck. I got it from a guy I know and am very pleased with the condition. The internals look good and clean. My question is, which engine is it. It's a 5.3 from a 2011 truck, cast iron block, 243 cathedral port heads and flat top pistons. I've tried the online search stuff, and it may be a LY5, but I'm not sure.
