Re: How To Run Exhaust with Lowered Truck

You could also try Richards Performance Muffler here in Oceanside http://www.rpmmuffler.com/ I have seen his work on lifted trucks and he appears to do good quality work. He has been in business for many years which also says a lot. Give him a call and see what he has to say. If you need me to run interference or ask questions for you, no problem. His shop is right down the street from me.

Re: How To Run Exhaust with Lowered Truck

Fatherflash, Thanks for the info. We have a pretty good muffler shop here in Temecula as well that I plan on using. My biggest concern has been up and over the axel, but looking at some of the posts and pictures here on this thread have given me a ton of ideas. Now just have to decide which one to use. Thanks...

Re: How To Run Exhaust with Lowered Truck

I know, old thread. but its what I do.

Thank you all for the pictures. This for some reason has been the hardest idea for me to get my head around. Too bad I know of ZERO quality muffler places around me to help out with this.

I may have to break out the chop saw, welder, and buy some pipe to try and figure this out on my own. And I am no welder by the way.

Re: How To Run Exhaust with Lowered Truck

I would like to see someone with fender well headers.

I have yet to see someone with fender well long tube headers running down the outside of the frame but still tucked under the body. Seems like the easiest possible solution other than finding the headers. It would tuck up close and once your outside the frame the exhaust can be perfectly straight as long as you stay away from large mufflers. You may also be forced to dump down or out the side before the rear tire but a lot of people are doing that anyhow. OTHER BENEFITS MAY INCLUDE COOLER TRANS AND ENGINE BAY TEMPS BECAUSE HEAT IS SPREAD OUT OPPOSED TO A CLOSE FITTING SYSTEM.

I also noticed in the fender well picture i posted that spark plug wires would be much less likely to burn on headers. The headers also hide some of the frame. which you could use to your advantage. the less heat would also help keep fuel line and in line fuel pumps cooler as well since most people run the lines and pumps inside the channel of the frame right next to there exhaust as well.

Re: How To Run Exhaust with Lowered Truck

I made a pretty unique system. 2.5 dual into 3.5 single, outside the frame.
