Looks like you have the 12 bolt intake manifold if so they are not vortec heads. Vortecs use an 8 bolt pattern, easy way to know if its a vortec head or not. Vortec manifolds do not have the center bolts next to the carb. Hope this helps, or I might be seeing something im not when looking at the picture.

Hey, glad to have you. You bought it! I've had my eye on that truck since it was in classic trucks a few years back and I saw it in KC somewhere. When it was recently for sale I missed it by a few weeks. Welcome!

Thanks for the reply. Truck does need a little attention but just has no rust anywhere. If anyone on here has any history or has any info about my purchse please pass it on. Still stumbling around the site but enjoying it so far.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

i would burnout all day long in that if i could keep gas in it, i run a 454 in mine, it had a 4 speed in it at first and thats probley y it tried to bend the frame, i did a complete tear down and had it straightend then i boxed it in mainly in the middle. but since yours started as a big block you may not have the same issues that i did, gotta love big blocks in these, they are a blast in these trucks

Ditto! That's a great look for a brown truck. If anything get some steel 15x10's on the back, but it looks good just the way it is.

Did you relocate the handle or just cover it up? What size tires are you running?
