Power steering

I know this has been beaten to death on here but I haven't seen many other solutions to putting a newer style (1985 or so) power steering box on a non dimpled 67 2wd frame. The frame is already coated so heating and dumpling with a bfh are out of the question for me. Anyone have any ill side effects of using spacers? And is there any reason we couldn't use the brackets many vendors sell for the 60-66 trucks to space the box off the frame? Any pics of solutions or advice would be awesome. Thanks!

Re: Power steering

Use the CP50014 quick ratio steering box, no dimpling or spacers needed. As far as spacers, I have heard that using one may throw off the geometry. See the thread below, I installed that box on my 67 with no issues.

Re: Power steering

Thanks for the response! Ordering that box next week! On another note.. I have heard of people knocking the rivets out of the trailing arm brackets and flipping them over upside down to correct pinion angle when lowering the rear with spring. How much spring drop does this work for? I'm lowering 4" spring and 1"with blocks. I just don't want to do it if it isn't necessary or will bring it up too far.

Re: Power steering

I dropped mine 4" in the rear and only used the drop springs and matching shocks with no issues at all.

Re: Power steering

Okay sweet. Thanks bud. I'm going to use the 4 inch springs and a 1 and 1/4 block but the block makes no shock or pinion angle difference on these so I think I'll be good to go.
