Donz '72 LWB Shop Truck...

Hello Guyz & Galz...

During the last 3 years I've found this site, bought a '65 that is finally seeing some serious forward progress… I bought it without an engine with the thought of slapping a motor in and driving... …well that was the plan…

Then I bought a 47 Dodge Rat Rod project that has been waiting in the wings... Saturday that all changed when a friend of mine offered to trade me this 72 LWB for the rat project...

These are from today…

After getting home I snapped the above pics and then replaced the long dead seat with one a friend gave me…

That's all for tonight… Next installment will include plans...

Re: Donz '72 LWB Shop Truck...

In the midst of 2 projects, so not much so far this weekend...
Gotta rotate the rear tires to the front and vice versa due to the PO putting the wider wheels and tires on the front...

In this pic you can see there is no center cap on the rear wheel…
IMG_3670 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

Picked up some bolts Friday and installed them today…
IMG_3717 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

next up is to rotate the tires, troubleshoot fuel gauge issues, gauge shows just over full at all times…

Re: Donz '72 LWB Shop Truck...

Too much happening this weekend to get much done, but I did use the truck to move some furniture for the son and move some of our stuff outta storage to home…

I also found the turn signal switch was cracked where the arm attaches to it, as for the canceling issue, it still doesn't and I found part of this spring in the column when I pulled the wheel…

Time for a new turn signal switch...

Re: Donz '72 LWB Shop Truck...

Chatting to Martin earlier today, as we do most days when we a bombing up and down the motorways to jobs (gets a bit boring just driving with the radio on) he mentioned that he wanted you to do the truck a candy apple green, and then he will bring it back to the UK to use while he builds his truck.

I think you did well on this trade Don, and as mentioned before, I love that bench seat you have.

Re: Donz '72 LWB Shop Truck...

Yesterday I did some troubleshooting on the inop fuel gauge issue, and determined it's time to order a sending unit as well as a turn signal switch… after that I put some time in on my 65 project...

Little job today… Pulled the wheels to rotate them, seems the PO had 8" wheels on the front and 7" wheels on the back...

I decided to paint them while I had them off…

Won an original Glovebox button on ebay, after paying for it and the ride, I saved about $5 off retail for a repop one…
I decided to paint the Glovebox door while at it…

Here's the button…
