Rene,

Nice score and congrats. I like this one more than the last one. Looks like a great truck to add to the collection. So I gotta ask. What do you do with all of them besides post pics to make us all drool? I bought a second one a few months back and I have trouble driving them as much as they need to be driven.

Well Brian, it's no secret that I sell a lot of the trucks that I pick up, when the economy was better I used to have a folder with names of people wanting 67-72 trucks from all over the US, but the times have changed that's for sure, but now that I'm retired I do most of my runaround driving in a old truck and you'll be surprised (or maybe not) how I constantly get asked "want to sell that old truck" or "I wish I could find a rust free shortbed" so I try to keep one or two in stock to satisfy the the serious askers, and of course once the weather gets nice I hit a lot of shows and cruises so they get driven.

Just kidding. I really like it.

When you say the dent in the bumper is an easy fix, is that because you're going to replace the bumper, or because you'll fix it? I just got an original bumper at the junk yard that I shined up really well, but it does have a dent under where the license plate mounts. I plan to heat up the back side with a heat gun, and pound it out with a heavy rubber mallet. Is that your plan, or is there a better way?

My brother has a press he bought at Harbor Freight. I am thinking of using it to straighten a bumper bent in the same place.

Well, I'm going to change the seats to more era correct 69-72 bucketseat in black, change the inter black grill to the original style grill, I already took off the back bed cover and I'll probably change the wheels and tires with something that resembles "Gumby's" footwear.

Tim, don't you mention the word "trim", I'm still trying to unpack the trim you send for the last truck!!! Actually some black trim would look good.

Re: I swear they find me......72' Short fleet.

Few updates, my good buddy Mark V. came by today and saved the day, now we have a new dash pad, stock radio and repo. stock steering wheel. This truck came with new white license plates but Ca. is going to start making black license plates again next year, unfortunately I can wait that long so I will make my own with the help of my wife's painting skills, they should be done tomorrow.
