WTB ZP3 special paint passenger fender

In search of matching passenger fender.
I realize this is a long shot but I am looking for a matching fender of this color below. Dark olive and light olive I believe. Spid just says special paint ZP3. Needed for a 69 custom camper20.

That's a pretty nice looking color combo. It looks like maybe Medium Olive with a dark olive stripe? It may be difficult to find another decent fender painted like that, but I can see the appeal in keeping the original paint. Good luck!

Thanks, I think you are right about the medium olive. Here a picture of the spid with no mention of the outside color. Ttt

Re: WTB ZP3 special paint passenger fender

I'm pretty sure with the ZP3 Special Paint Code your chances of finding matching paint fender. That is cool truck with very nice options. Do you have any history or better still more pictures of the truck. As was mentioned the two colors medium and dark olive are regular GM colours from that era but the paint code means it was special order with the colour breaks as they are on your truck. I would think you may have a one of one paint scheme truck. Maybe SSTim or someone else on the boards can verify what I've just mentioned .

It may be way easier to find a medium olive fender, then add the dark olive stripe. And "age" the dark olive. That is one sweetly optioned 3/4 ton.

Re: WTB ZP3 special paint passenger fender

wow, that's a GREAT truck. Are you certain it's original paint? Hate to ask. Always hard to tell if factory, unless you know the history personally - looking at where the dividing line where it comes out behind the upper belt trim by the tail light seems off, but I doubt the factory was as careful as we would be with a repaint. Just wondering if you know the actual lineage or if judging by looks. Either way, I love it - very nice looking and equipped truck. The dark olive looks thin, so I agree with the above comment about finding a faded medium olive fender - they are all over the place (well, kinda), and then adding the dark olive, perhaps a little patina-ized to match as much as possible. Got any older pics of it? Pete (DeadheadNM) has one painted similar that I believe a family member drives. It has a dark olive roof also - not originally a special paint truck though, believe his dark olive was added. It's a real nice truck too. Would love to see some more of this truck. And please don't get me wrong, I think it's probably original too with the spec paint code and the faded patina - this is just so rare that any more info you have would be great. I had a faded med olive truck that I would have LOVED to have found a matching fender for - but I found it after I painted one, so, que sera and all that. No way to paint match faded med olive, so a "find" might be essential.

Re: WTB ZP3 special paint passenger fender

Thanks jocko. The truck was originally purchased at a dealer here in Albq Ed Blacks Chevrolet. I have the original purchase invoice and protecto plate. It was used as a work vehicle for a local electric company here in town. Mileage is turned over at least once 27k it reads. I bought it from a guy here who has 20 67-72 trucks and this was the best one he had that was original. I paid $2500. It's basically all original with no rust at all. Looking under the truck it's amazing how clean it is. The original bucket seats were pulled and used for another project the guy had. I'm on the hunt for a set as well (FYI). It was hit in the fender and bumper. The truck did not come with the original fender, grill, bumper and radiator. I was told it was running but sitting since last registered in 2000 according to plate sticker. Under the hood is all original and super clean. The owner before last was going to put a timing chain in but never did. The better side is against the wall so I can't get any pics. I've seen Petes old 4x4 you referred to back when it was his dd. I agree with the medium olive fender being the best option. I could live with an original dark, black or nos black I think would look acceptable for the time being. Here's some pics that I have and will post more in the future when I get to pulling it out.
Original bucket seat carpet...

Good driver fender...
