Question Headache hinges

I am trying to put some custom billet hinges made by sachse hot rod shop on my 69 c-10. The hinges mount to the firewall, it seems that my cowl hood keeps hitting the cowl below the windshield. I feel like I'm missing something somewhere. PLEASE HELP!! ANY ideas!!

Re: Headache hinges

When we built this blue truck we used the same hinges, and yes we ran into that same problem. The hood only comes up about 1/2 way before hitting the cowl, but for the truck to sit as low as it could be and run a cowl induction hood this was our only option at the time. No adjustment on those, sorry I couldn't help but you are not alone with that problem. I don't have a picture on this computer with the hood on.

Re: Headache hinges

I would powdercoat some original hood hinges and use them. Nothing fits like OEM.

Spoke to them and they said to recess the part where the hinge attatches to the firewall to where it is even with the edge of the cowl on the hood? Sounds like it might work.
